General Description

Alfred's Coach House is a gracious Colonial style home located in the Old Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake, offering a wonderful alternative to hotels, affording not only privacy and spacious quarters, but a personal touch. Situated one short block from Lake Ontario, our home is within 15 minutes walking distance of the town center.

There is no shortage of things to enjoy when you visit with us, including the Shaw Festival, shopping, wine tasting, antiquing, fine dining and golf. Ride the bike trails along the Niagara River and through Wine Country. Walk to the Prince of Wales for afternoon tea. Pamper yourself at the newly renovated spa at the Pillar & Post or the elegant new O Spa at the Oban Inn.

When you return from your busy day, relax in the lovely guest lounge, in the garden by the heated pool, in the gazebo under the stately old willow or in your spacious, private guest suite, with king size bed, ensuite bath, tv, bar fridge and fireplace.

The LAKEWOOD has a cozy northern cottage atmosphere and features California King sleigh bed, private skylit 4 piece bath, as well as a large private, sitting room with t.v. and electric fireplace.

The COUNTRY LANE has a charming country decor and features a King bed, private bath with walk-in shower, as well as a private sitting room with t.v. and electric fireplace overlooking pool and garden.

The SEABREEZE has a beachy, coastal decor and features a King bed, skylit bath with walk-in shower, as well as a large sitting area with t.v. and electric fireplace overlooking pool and garden.

All rooms also have bar fridges, hairdryers and available WiFi access.

Standard Policies

Breakfast

Your day starts with a tray of steaming hot coffee for early risers, served on a tray outside your guest room. Our full gourmet breakfast will be served in the elegant Dining Room and features assorted fruits, home baking and a variety of hot entrees.

We will accommodate moderate dietary needs with advance notice.
However we cannot accommodate extreme dietary restrictions, such as vegan,kosher,no dairy at all, celiac disease, etc. If you have such issues, you will be better served booking into a hotel in town.

Local Attractions

Downtown shops/dining and theatres are a leisurely walk from Alfred's Coach House. Lake Ontario and North America's oldest golf course are only one block away. The Niagara River and Niagara Recreational Trail are within easy walking distance, while local Wineries and the Falls are only a short drive away.

Directions

Via Toronto:

QEW to Exit 38B Niagara-on the-Lake Exit-Glendale Ave North,turn right, cross back over the QEW to second set of lights. Turn left onto York Rd. (Tim Hortons will be on your left.)then follow signage to N.O.T.L.
At the intersection of Mary and Mississauga Streets, turn left onto Mary Street. Go 3 short blocks,then turn right on Nassau St. Alfred's Coach House, 279 Nassau Street, is on the third house on your left just past Gage Street.

Via Detroit:

Follow 401, then 403 through Hamilton, Ontario to QEW Niagara to exit 38B/Niagara-on-the-Lake. Proceed as above.

Via Buffalo/Niagara Falls:

Crossing at Queenston/Lewiston Bridge follow QEW to first exit marked Stanley St./Niagara Falls/Niagara-on-the-Lake. Follow signage to N.O.T.L.
From the Niagara Parkway continue on Queen to Nassau(on your left across from the golf course). Alfred's Coach House, 279 Nassau St., is one block from the lake on your right just past Johnson St.
