General Description
Finlay House is a mere 2-3 minute stroll to picturesque Queen Street in Niagara on the Lake, the prettiest town in Canada.
Our rooms are bright and comfortable and come equipped with all the 'mod cons', including: A/C, free wireless internet access, courtesy guest laptop, flat screen LCD tvs, High Definition movie and Sports channels, mini fridge, hair dryer etc..
We have a lovely outdoor porch sitting area where you can watch the world go by with a glass of wine.
We are a smoke free and pet free guest house.

Standard Policies
- Check In:
- CHECK IN AT 4PM We cannot guarantee an early check in and/or luggage drop off. However, if you arrive early you are welcome to come and park your car and stroll in to town before check in at 4pm. Feel free to ring the bell and let us know that you have arrived, IF we are in and your room is ready you will be able to check in early, otherwise we'll see you at 4pm!
LATE ARRIVALS by prior arrangement ONLY.
- Check Out:
- CHECK OUT AT 11AM A later check out can be arranged for a $50 fee.
- Cancellation:
- One night's room rate is taken as a deposit. If you find you must cancel, or shorten the number of nights reserved, 14 days notice is required.
Guests are responsible for all reserved nights if cancellation is less than 14 days. All cancellations are subject to a $25 processing fee. Our policies are a necessary part of managing a small Bed and Breakfast. Cancellations can affect us significantly. Of course, we understand that emergencies do happen, so if you are concerned about having to cancel for any reason, we recommend you purchase travel insurance through a third party for your own financial protection - Chattan Room:
- Please NOTE if you are booking the Chattan Room that this is a very pretty ground floor Queen Bedroom with a Private Bathroom, NOT an ensuite.
- Food Allergies:
- Please allow plenty of notice if you have food allergies/dietary restrictions.If you do have a food allergy, we will certainly prepare your food to your specification, however it is important to note that your breakfast is prepared in our family kitchen (of course!) which is more than likely to contain the ingredient that you wish to avoid.
- Breakfast:
- Breakfast is always served at 9am.We can of course accommodate early departures with coffee and muffins. Please allow plenty of notice if you are departing early.
- Welcome:
- All that remains is to warmly welcome you to Finlay House. If it is your first time visiting with us we hope that you enjoy your stay.For those of you who are returning guests, WELCOME BACK, it's great to see you!

Breakfast
Breakfast is a generous and delicious 2 course meal.
Served in our homey dining room, guests have separate dining tables, to allow intimate conversations but equally the tables are poisitioned just so that if you do like to converse with fellow guests then that is also possible!
House specialities include: Creme Brulee French Toast, Poached Pears in Raspberries, Eggs Benedict, Sundried Tomato and Goats Cheese Quiche, Apricots poached in ginger, Home made Belgian Waffles, Home made Granola, Baked Cinnamon Apples... to name but a few!
Coffee, assorted teas, fresh juice.
